The sailing list is worked out with a safe, effective and pleasurable sail in mind. Therefore, we have first of all consulted the relevant climatic situation, and Ara-Moana sticks to current routes and time schedules. The list shows that there are 3 breaks of longer duration. The first break will be in Trinidad, where the boat will be taken out of the water and be submitted to a bottom survey. The second is in Guayaquil in Equador, where the first meeting with the Polyne-sians is to take place. Here Ara-Moana will also be cleared for the truly long sails across the Pacific. It is here the "laun-ching phase" of the project commences. The final break of longer duration will be held at the Marquesas in French Polyne-sia. There will be a strong need for rest after having put behind well over 3,000 nautical miles. Besides, this is where Motu Haka has its head office and is preparing for our arrival.
