Musée de Iles (MDI) is Tahiti's culture-historical museum. Apart from the museum, MDI runs a research program concerning Polynesian language, art, mythology and common traditions. At the time being, the museum is not able to parti-cipate in a sail with a double canoe like Ara-Moana. But two of the researchers at the museum show a great interest in the project and will gladly help by teaching about the rituals and tradi-tions involved in sailing with the Polynesian double canoe.
